In the linear economy, plants that fail to meet market standards are treated as waste. Yet in nature, nothing is ever wasted, it is only transformed into new forms of energy.

Cycle of Breath is an experiential scent exhibition that uses aroma concentrates extracted from agricultural leftovers by local Northern suppliers to create new olfactory narratives. These include, for example, scents distilled from corn stalks that would otherwise be burned, or absolutes processed from discarded mandarin peels from juice production.

The exhibition invites visitors into the life cycle of these plants, where what was once seen as residue is reshaped into “breaths of scent,” allowing the plants to tell their stories in a new form.
